how it all began in the sea
then man jumped out
searching all the new grounds

at once he ran from valley to peak
collecting immortal memories
but also he slashed burned exploded and cashed
all the green that his eyes could perceive

if you forget you are a merman

forth he went up the mountain
and named all the beasts and the trees
without notice or sound flipped it all upside down

yet still the ocean did rumble
she weeped with wailing and splashed

he knew we would drown or crash

so down he walked to the valley
and slowly he realized the beach
is only around as the sea’s landing ground
and always just out of reach
